Gilbert Chamber Seeks Mentors for High School and College Students

The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce offers a Shadowing and Mentorship Program which pairs high school and college students with industry professionals to provide an inside look at daily operations in their field of interest. Each student and mentor may work at their own pace to accomplish between 16 and 20 hours of career shadowing. All mentors and students come together for a closing reception at the end of each cycle.

We are seeking industry professionals to serve as mentors to our applicants. Our next cycle is scheduled to start January 17, 2024 and close on March 27, 2024. Applications have opened for students to participate in the Shadowing and Mentorship Program. You can expect students to be bright, ambitious, eager to learn, and respectful.

Mentors can expect a myriad of benefits from the shadowing and mentoring program which include contributing to the development of our future workforce and their success as well as enriching their own sense of leadership and industry acumen. Mentors typically possess a few key characteristics which include self-awareness, intention, openness, and a willingness to extend their networks.

The Gilbert Chamber will offer a Business Academy Workshop on Mentoring for interested industry professionals in late 2023/early 2024.
