GILBERT CHAMBER FOUNDATION, ASU POLYTECHNIC TO HOST 2020 BUSINESS & EDUCATION SUMMIT

GILBERT – The Gilbert Chamber Foundation will host a community dialog at the 2020 Business & Education Summit with focus on how employers, current and future employees, educators, and families can partner to strengthen the workforce in the East Valley and beyond.

Guest speaker, Maria Hesse, Ph.D., former Vice Provost for Academic Partnerships at Arizona State University and former President and CEO of Chandler-Gilbert Community College will set the stage for table discussion by offering insights on workforce and economic development, qualities of a robust workforce, and the importance of collaboration among key stakeholders.

“These events are a vital part of our combined effort to work together and solve the challenges that both the business and education communities face,” said Duane Roen, Ph.D., Dean and Professor of Arizona State University's College of Integrative Sciences and Arts. “When we have business, education, and government in the same room sharing in conversation about an important community issue, we put ourselves at a unique advantage where we can begin to work toward a common vision.”

Roen will serve as the moderator for the Business & Education Summit. The event is open to community stakeholders, with each table including representation from government, education, small and large businesses.

The 2020 Business & Education Summit will be held on Thursday, Jan 16, 2020 at Arizona State University - Polytechnic Campus; Cooley Ballroom, 7001 E. Williams Field Rd. in Mesa.
