Gilbert Chamber Supports Parking Ordinances Update

In a memo to Mayor Brigette Peterson and members of Gilbert Town Council, the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce expressed support for the Z23-06: LDC Amendment Parking Ordinances Update.

Parking is a critical aspect of urban planning, and the proposed amendments demonstrate a thoughtful and forward-thinking approach to address the evolving needs of our community. The addition of options to reduce parking requirements for unique circumstances gives Town staff the flexibility to consider the business use and planned occupancy, with the support of a parking study when necessary. Additionally, the update clarifies the parking section to group parking reduction options into a single section.

Updates such as these demonstrate the Town’s consideration of a changing transportation landscape. By incorporating flexibility in parking requirements, our town can better adapt to these evolving trends and build upon an inviting environment for economic investment and expansion.
