The Gilbert Chamber of Commerce has announced its endorsements for the 2026 election cycle following a comprehensive, nonpartisan evaluation process designed to provide the business community with meaningful insight into candidates seeking public office.
As part of the Chamber's formal endorsement process, eligible candidates were invited to participate in recorded interviews focused on issues impacting the business community, including economic development, workforce development, infrastructure, and the overall business climate. These interviews were reviewed and scored by business community stakeholders, with feedback considered alongside recommendations from the Chamber's Public Policy Committee and final approval by the Board of Directors.
"This process would not be possible without the significant investment of time made by our business community stakeholders, Public Policy Committee members, and Board of Directors," said Sarah Watts, IOM, President & CEO of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. "These business leaders dedicated hours to watching candidate interviews, evaluating responses, and providing thoughtful feedback. Their commitment helps ensure our endorsements reflect the perspectives of the employers, professionals, and community leaders who are invested in Gilbert's future."

The Chamber's endorsement policy permits a maximum of one endorsement per open seat. In races where a candidate did not receive an endorsement, the Chamber determined that no additional candidate met the threshold established through its endorsement process.
To further inform the community, the Chamber also hosted informational podcast conversations with Gilbert Town Council candidates. These conversations were intended to provide additional perspective and were not part of the endorsement evaluation or scoring process.
The Gilbert Chamber's endorsements are nonpartisan and reflect its commitment to supporting informed civic engagement and leadership that contributes to a strong business environment and a thriving community.
The Chamber remains committed to working collaboratively with all elected officials, regardless of endorsement status, to advance policies and initiatives that benefit Gilbert's residents, businesses, and economy.
