The East Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance (EVCCA), representing nearly 5,000 businesses across eight chambers in the East Valley, has formally urged members of the Arizona House of Representatives to pass the Senate version of the Fiscal Year 2026 state budget.
In a letter sent to legislators, EVCCA Chair Tom Binge outlined the Alliance’s strong support for the Senate’s proposed budget, noting that it is structurally balanced and includes several key provisions that promote economic stability, infrastructure, and education.
Among the most impactful components of the Senate budget:
A significant increase in the Personal Property Tax threshold to $500,000, reducing the tax burden on small and mid-sized businesses
Critical funding for K-12 education, workforce development, and higher education, helping build the pipeline for tomorrow’s workforce
Investment in STEM programs to support innovation and future-ready industries
Funding for SR 24, a vital transportation corridor needed to accommodate rapid growth in the region
Tourism and Arizona Commerce Authority funding, boosting economic development and promoting Arizona as a premier destination for business and leisure
Allocation for Colorado River defense, protecting the state's long-term water future
Adjustment of the aggregate expenditure limit, providing greater flexibility to respond to pressing local and statewide needs
The EVCCA emphasizes its appreciation for the legislature’s efforts to address the diverse and growing needs of our state while managing finite resources. The Alliance believes the Senate version reflects thoughtful prioritization and provides a pathway to economic strength and community resilience.
As the voice of the business community in the East Valley, EVCCA is committed to advocating for policies that foster growth, innovation, and quality of life for all Arizonans.
