The East Valley Chambers of Commerce Alliance (EVCCA) has once again stepped up to represent the voice of business—this time by advocating for a key transportation investment that would shape the future of the Southeast Valley.
In a recent letter sent to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), the EVCCA expressed its strong support for the construction of State Route 505 (SR 505)—a proposed North/South corridor that promises to improve mobility, connect population centers, and drive long-term economic growth across the region.
Representing nearly 5,000 member businesses across eight chambers—Apache Junction, Carefree/Cave Creek, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and Tempe—the EVCCA is Arizona’s largest chamber coalition. From small startups to multinational corporations, these members share a common need: accessible, reliable infrastructure that supports commerce and workforce movement.
The SR 505 is more than just a road. It’s a critical link in a growing region’s transportation network, designed to complement existing investments like State Route 24 (SR 24). Together, these routes will help complete the limited-access highway system that’s essential for a thriving economy in the Southeast Valley.
By prioritizing the connection between SR 24 and SR 505, EVCCA believes the region will be better positioned to:
Attract future development
Support new employment centers
Relieve traffic congestion
Enhance mobility for residents and businesses alike
The Chamber Alliance’s message is clear: regional transportation matters, and the business community is united in its call for forward-thinking infrastructure.
