Gilbert Leadership Class XXVIII Announces Annual Community Project

Each year, the Gilbert Leadership class works together to plan, organize, and complete a service project benefiting the community. This year, Gilbert Leadership class XXVIII will complete a beautification project on behalf of the Gilbert Heritage Center and AZCEND.

The project includes plans to create interior wall art to be displayed in various locations of the Gilbert Heritage Center, including conference rooms, the kids’ room and common areas. Class members will also install vital way-finding signage for visitors entering the Center. Additionally, there are plans for the installation of fruit trees for use by WIC and Senior Center clients.

“AZCEND is honored to have been chosen for the Gilbert Leadership Project for 2020,” said Dara Gibson, AZCEND Development Director. “We know that all the enhancements they will provide will make it more accessible for the people utilizing the center. There is nothing greater than a community coming together to help people.”

The Gilbert Heritage Resource Center is a collaborative effort between the Town of Gilbert and several local non-profit providers, including AZCEND. The Center is committed to providing access to medical, dental, counseling, and social services. Most of these services are free of charge to Gilbert families in need.

Project funds will be managed by AZCEND. All proceeds will fund this project. Donate to www.AZCEND.org and you can receive a dollar for dollar tax credit.
